Welcome to the European Lexicographic Infrastructure for Artificial Intelligence (ELEXAI) questionnaire for lexicographers about the current lexicographic practices involving AI systems and tools.
The goal of this survey is to gain an overview of the current state of the use of AI systems and tools (including LLMs and agentic AI) in lexicographic projects within and beyond the ELEXAI consortium. Given the rapid and revolutionary changes in the field of AI in recent years, we aim to document current practices – including prompting techniques, the use of agentic AI, the training needs, the models available for different languages, and how well they perform on various lexicographic tasks.
We welcome responses from anyone with a connection to lexicography – you do not need to be a full-time lexicographer to participate.
Fields marked with * are required.
The survey consists of five parts: 1) Use of AI systems and tools in lexicographic work; 2) Interaction with AI systems and tools; 3) ELEXAI infrastructure and training needs; 4) Future outlook; 5) Background information about the respondent.
Filling out the survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. There are some open questions which may take longer to answer. You can save your progress and continue later. To do so, you will be asked to create a username and password. Please do not use your real name or other identifying information as your username.
No personal data are processed: the responses do not contain any information that would allow to identify the respondent.
The results of the survey will be published as a deliverable on the ELEXAI website and disseminated in open-access scientific publications.
If you agree to participate, please answer the questions in the survey as best you can.
